Jay Hovdey is an American journalist, author and screenwriter. He is a writer for Luck. He wrote Episode 4 and co-wrote Episode 8 with John R. Perotta. He has written extensively about horse racing as a sports journalist, and is a four-time recipient of the Eclipse Award for his work on Thoroughbred racing. Hovdey also wrote the books Inside Horse Racing, Whittingham: The Story of a Thoroughbred Racing Legend, and Cigar: America's Horse.
